What wonders I hoped for
I could not expect this
The joy and wonder
Laughing and jest…
A year ago today the most wonderful girl in the world met me for dinner and book store wandering. It feels like we’ve been together forever, but it also feels like we’re just getting started.
I love you Eeen, here’s to several more wonderful romps around our star.

I don’t want to play phone tag with you all day.
I don’t want to repeat something four times.
I don’t want you to repeat something seven times.
I don’t want to scramble to write down what the hell you just said.
I don’t want to spell out my email address.
I don’t want to have to deal with not just one, but two (or, god forbid, even more) of your voices at once.
Give me your damn email address.

Update! Check out the live webcams of the LHC!
There’s been a lot of talk on the Interwebnets about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) lately. Neatorama found a great YouTube video that explains what the LHC does, and some other people are worried about what might happen (or already has happened) to the Earth as a result of the thing.
Me, I’m not worried. Even if the world is destroyed I’ll be made aware of it almost instantly thanks to a handy website and RSS feed that tracks the status of such things. Besides, there are so many other ways the Earth could be destroyed, being destroyed by a human-built collider seems almost too boring to actually happen.
But, if you’re looking to consume a bit of obscure trivia about the Earth before it’s destroyed, Kottke links to some interesting tidbits.
Earth-destruction or not, there should be some interesting stuff happening in the next few months.

Today I made a crown for myself, but it didn’t work. It was too big.
Why do camera manufacturers insist on bundling crazy-tiny flash cards with their cameras when they could probably get much larger ones for just pennies more?
So, today’s lesson is this: don’t plan your day based on what the telecommunications people say, especially if they say they’ll be there in the morning to fix your IP issue.
(It’s now nearly 5:00 PM and they have yet to show.)
